Toshiba Medical Enhances Multipurpose System to Simplify Exams and Prioritize Safety

Ultimax-i Brings Three Systems in One—Angio, RF and Digital Radiography—to a Compact Clinical Space with Versatile Overhead Tube and New Lightweight Wireless Detectors

CHICAGO--()--Making it possible for health care providers to perform a wide-range of complex procedures within an R&F room space, Toshiba Medical, a Canon Group company, introduces new technology to its Ultimax™-i FPD multipurpose system. Expanding clinical flexibility with an integrated overhead tube, the system is compatible with both of the new Canon CXDI-710C and CXDI-810C Wireless Detectors, which are among the lightest detectors in the industry.

Toshiba Medical’s Ultimax-i FPD multipurpose system maximizes clinical versatility by providing orthopedic, G.I., pain management, urology, routine radiography and angiography lab capabilities within a single R&F room. As the industry’s newest tilting C-arm multipurpose system, the Ultimax-i FPD comes standard with complete local and remote control consoles and the ability to position the C-arm above or below the patient. The Ultimax-i, combined with a new overhead tube and compatible with the CXDI-710C and CXDI-810C Wireless Detectors, provides facilities with two rooms in one for improved efficiency. Utilizing Canon high-resolution imaging technology, the new CXDI-710C and CXDI-810C detectors are also IPX7 rated for submersion in water up to 1 meter for 30 minutes* and are ergonomically sculpted and designed with hand grips to allow users to grip the devices comfortably and rounded corners to help position them easily.

“It is our goal to design imaging technology with patients in mind, and the enhancements to the Ultimax-i FPD multipurpose system reduces the need for patient movement, enabling clinicians to prioritize patient and operator safety and comfort,” said Satrajit Misra, vice president, Marketing and Strategic Development, Toshiba America Medical Systems, Inc. “We are thrilled by the opportunity to introduce the best of Canon technology with Toshiba Medical’s leading diagnostic imaging systems to help our customers deliver fast, accurate diagnoses, improve treatment and enhance patient care.”

Toshiba Medical is showcasing the new technology on its Ultimax-i FPD multipurpose system at this year’s Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) annual meeting in Chicago, November 26 – December 1, 2017 (Booth #7330, North Hall B).
