HPE and SGI Servers for HPC to be Available on the Rescale Cloud through Strategic Partnerships

SAN FRANCISCO--()--Rescale, the leading provider of HPC in the cloud, today announced that it will support HPE and SGI servers on its HPC platform, allowing HPE customers to seamlessly access and manage a hybrid environment of cloud and on-premises HPC systems in a single unified platform solution.

HPE together with SGI form the largest supplier of enterprise computing and high performance computing worldwide and deliver some of the largest HPC systems on-premises and through cloud service providers. With the rapid growth in cloud through SaaS, IaaS and now HPCaaS, cloud computing is becoming a key business driver for HPE and its partners. In particular, HPC in the cloud is expected to grow exponentially in coming years due to its inherent scalability and multi-architecture nature, which are key to supporting varied application ecosystems and complex workloads such as engineering simulation, deep learning and life sciences.

Rescale is partnering with providers including Advania, FedCentric and the HPE Cloud28+ community to build a powerful, flexible and easy-to-use hybrid HPC cloud environment. From a single portal, customers are able to submit jobs to HPE and SGI hardware on-premises or to cloud service providers. Full administrative capabilities—including resource and team management, budgeting and reporting—enable customers to efficiently utilize and manage their resources, whether they are on-premises, at a colocation facility or in the public cloud. Via the Rescale platform, customers can choose to access their preferred hardware, no matter where it’s physically located, to achieve flexible, scalable and cost-effective access to HPC.

At their Supercomputing 2017 booths in Denver, Colorado from November 13-15, Rescale and HPE will be demonstrating the Rescale platform supporting HPE systems on premises and in the cloud. Rescale will also present to the HP-CAST HPE users group.

“Rescale is very excited to offer hybrid HPC access to the largest hardware user community worldwide,” said Gabriel Broner, VP and GM of HPC at Rescale. “Rescale has expertise working with multi-cloud and multi-architecture technology, and the ScaleX Enterprise platform is ideally suited to managing various hardware resources and providing a hybrid path to cloud expansion for HPE and SGI users.”

“Advania looks forward to working with Rescale to expand HPC options for our customers. We have successfully deployed HPE systems that people will be able to access through Rescale,” said Ægir Rafn Magnússon, Divisional Manager of Sales and Business Development at Advania. “Having a single platform that allows our customers to access their on-premises system and extend it seamlessly to the cloud using familiar hardware will improve their throughput, efficiency and costs.”

“FedCentric specializes in high performance computing and has significant experience with SGI large memory systems, which are uniquely suited to solve some of the most challenging problems that can’t be easily decomposed,” said Gerry Kolosvary, President of FedCentric. “Working with Rescale, we will be able to offer access to many users to solve problems they simply could not solve before.”
