MapAnything Puts its Location Tech To The Test By Releasing App Experience To Help Dreamforce 2017 Attendees Hail a Free Shuttle

The company will also demo its recently launched MapAnything Live product with General Motors and offer attendees a chance to win a 2017 Chevy Colorado

SAN FRANCISCO--()--MapAnything, Inc., a “Where” company and a leader in geo-productivity and intelligence for business, announced a new suite of apps intended to cut down on navigation and travel related hassles for attendees of Dreamforce 2017.

Entering its second year, the MapAnything Live enabled Dreamforce 2017 Shuttle Tracker (formerly DF16 Buses), is an iOS and Android app developed to help attendees navigate the Dreamforce campus. The app will show users some of the best routes, time of pickup and drop-off, and will transmit live locations of the buses on the app. In addition to the Shuttle Tracker, MapAnything is previewing a new product called MapAnything Indoor which is available within the Salesforce Events App. The interior map will show locations of sessions, keynotes and other events, so conference attendees can minimize location-related hassles, attend more sessions and maximize their overall Dreamforce experience. The following video on the MapAnything website demonstrates how attendees can utilize these apps during Dreamforce.

“When we looked at how we could improve the experience for attendees at Dreamforce, we knew that MapAnything would be a logical choice,” said Scott Owens, Director of Events Technology at Salesforce. “Their product offering fits the needs of what we’re looking for to provide efficient routes and transportation for attendees, while cutting down travel and navigation time so everyone can spend their time enjoying the content, rather than going from place to place.”

These apps build on MapAnything’s strategic agreement with General Motors announced in July. As part of this agreement, companies using GM Fleet vehicles will be able to visualize and manage their fleet in MapAnything’s Live, a leading telematics and IoT solution. The connectivity solution combines telematics fleet management and customer relationship management (CRM) software to streamline routes and automate business processes. The solution is available by subscription and is powered through GM’s OnStar embedded hardware. Conference attendees can stop by MapAnything’s booth at Dreamforce 2017 to view a demo of the product offering and a chance to win a 2017 GM Chevy Colorado.

This partnership with GM comes on the heels of a $33.1 million dollar funding round announced in February, and inclusions in the IDC Innovators report on Field Service Management, the CIO Applications issue on the Top 25 Telematics applications, and CRM Magazine’s Rising Stars issue.

“Dreamforce is the most inspiring technology event of the year and the world's largest gathering of Trailblazers, so we decided to partner with Dreamforce to bring our location and IoT expertise to enhance the attendee experience,” said John Stewart, CEO of MapAnything.”

In addition to the car giveaway, the company will donate a dollar for every scanned badge at the MapAnything booth to a variety of charities, including the Benioff Children’s Hospital and the Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina. Attendees of Dreamforce 2017 can stop by to learn more at Booth 1602 during Dreamforce 2017 and can download the Dreamforce app powered by MapAnything here.
