Donna H. Kinnaird Joins New York Life Board of Directors

NEW YORK--()--New York Life Insurance Company announces that it has named Donna H. Kinnaird to its Board of Directors, effective October 15, 2017. Ms. Kinnaird, 65, is the former senior executive vice president and chief operating officer of Reinsurance Group of America Inc. (NYSE:RGA), a global life and health reinsurance company.

Ms. Kinnaird served as senior executive vice president and chief operating officer of RGA from 2012 to 2017. In this role, she was tasked with strategy, global integration and organizational planning. Additionally, Ms. Kinnaird led the team responsible for relationships with top global clients in North America, Europe and Asia.

Prior to joining RGA, Ms. Kinnaird served for 29 years within the insurance industry. From 2002 to 2012, she held various leadership roles with Swiss Re America Holding, most recently as president and chief executive officer of Reassure America Life Insurance Company.

From 1983 to 2001, she held positions of increasing responsibility, including chief operating officer and chief financial officer, at Americo Life, Inc. She started her career in public accounting at Peat, Marwick, Mitchell & Co.

Ms. Kinnaird brings both domestic and international subsidiary board experience to New York Life. She served on the board of RGA International Reinsurance Company Limited and represented RGA on the governing board of LL Global Inc., an insurance advisory company. She also represented Swiss Re on the governing body of the American Council of Life Insurers. She currently serves on the board of the S.S. Huebner Foundation for Insurance Education.

She holds a M.B.A. from Butler University and a Bachelor’s degree in accounting from Indiana State University. She resides with her husband in Athens, Georgia.
