KANSAS CITY, Mo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--As tailgating season reaches its peak, Hostess Brands, LLC is releasing a handful of sporty, sweet and savory Twinkies® recipes suitable for cheering on one’s team on game-day. The recipes – originally submitted by innovative and earnest snack cake fans and published in The Twinkies® Cookbook – are as follows:
- Patriotic Twinkie Pie, for Patriots fans especially but any fan whose team sports red, white and blue
- Twinkie Kebabals, a recipe that saves the day for a last-minute tailgating celebration by combining fresh fruit and Twinkies on wooden skewers
- Pigs-in-a-Twinkie, created by a 12-year old, so it’s sure to be not just delicious but also simple to make
- Dave’s Twinkie Burger, which takes on a “totally different taste than a regular burger” when using Twinkies as the bun
Each of these recipes was submitted by individuals as part of a wide recipe call that took place when The Twinkies® Cookbook was originally published more than a decade ago, but were deemed worthwhile in re-introducing to fans for the 2017-2018 football season.
