SpotHero Opens Detroit Office Focusing on Parking Mobility Solutions for the Automotive Industry

Move cements SpotHero’s commitment to park the cars of the future by advancing relationships with automotive partners

DETROIT--()--SpotHero, North America’s leading parking reservation service, has opened a Detroit location at the Techstars Mobility office in the Motor City’s burgeoning tech corridor. With the new Detroit office and HeroConnect, its end-to-end parking mobility platform, SpotHero, which maintains the largest network of off-street parking facilities, will work even more closely with automotive partners to integrate parking into companion apps and in-dash solutions.

“In this new world of the connected car and autonomous vehicle, parking is going to be a critical component,” said SpotHero VP of Strategy and Partnerships Elan Mosbacher. “Detroit is North America’s automotive hub, and opening a new office location here allows us to strengthen relationships with our partners and build the ideal parking experience for the next generation of automobiles together.”

SpotHero’s Detroit office will focus on HeroConnect and strategic partnerships that enhance and optimize the driving and parking experience. Encompassing an open API, SDK, and embeddable web widgets, SpotHero’s parking mobility platform enables automotive and transportation and technology companies to offer parking reservations and transactional parking functionality seamlessly in their native platforms.

“We’re excited to welcome SpotHero into our space,” said Techstars Mobility Managing Director Ted Serbinski. “Parking, a $30 billion industry in North America, is a key component to the entire transportation mobility ecosystem. What will glue the future of this ecosystem together is a seamless experience from point A to point B. SpotHero is the clear leader in parking reservations, offering that critical piece of mobility—where to park your vehicle. SpotHero’s opening of a Detroit office reinforces Techstars Mobility’s mission of connecting innovative, venture-backed companies with global automotive and transportation corporations.”

Mosbacher will participate in a panel at the Techstars Mobility Demo Day on Oct. 18, where he will speak about the future of parking, mobility, and the importance of Detroit in that equation. SpotHero also released “Parking through the Lens of Mobility,” a research-driven whitepaper developed to serve as a resource for any transportation platform exploring a parking offering.
