Riverbed Highlights Next-Gen SD-WAN and Cloud Networking Solution at the Open Networking User Group (ONUG) Fall 2017 Conference

Speaking Session with Orange Business Services to highlight Orange’s plans to offer Riverbed SteelConnect as part of hybrid network offering

SAN FRANCISCO--()--Riverbed Technology will showcase its market-leading SD-WAN and cloud networking solution, SteelConnect, at the ONUG Fall 2017 conference in New York City on October 17-18. SteelConnect provides unified connectivity and policy-based orchestration spanning the entire network – LAN/WLAN (including Riverbed Xirrus WiFi), WAN, data center and the cloud, with one-click connectivity to Microsoft Azure and AWS.

In addition to SteelConnect demos, during the conference Riverbed will team up with Orange Business Services to present Orange’s plans to offer SteelConnect as part of its hybrid network offering. The new offering will enable Orange customers to simplify the management of their hybrid networks and optimize the performance of both corporate and cloud applications.

In March, Riverbed announced that Orange Business Services will leverage SteelConnect to deliver an SD-WAN managed service to their customers. In May 2017, Riverbed announced the strategic acquisition of Xirrus, a leading cloud-enabled Wi-Fi networks provider. The acquisition will expand wireless and wired LAN capabilities of SteelConnect – a bold step to bringing the power of policy-based network management out to the wireless edge. Today, Riverbed’s 600 SD-WAN customer deployments span across a wide range of industries globally, including retail, manufacturing, healthcare, professional services, finance, technology, and many more.

Initially launched in April 2016, Riverbed SteelConnect is the industry’s first and only SD-WAN solution that unifies deployment and orchestration of hybrid WANs, branch networks, and cloud environments, including one-click connectivity and optimization into AWS and Microsoft Azure. SteelConnect also enables zero-touch provisioning, allowing an enterprise to set-up a global network and connect to the cloud in minutes, and easy ongoing network management that provides the ability to make network or business/application policy changes with a few clicks of a mouse.

Since the initial launch of SteelConnect, Riverbed has added numerous new features including integration with SteelCentral for visibility, integration with the market-leading WAN Optimization solution (Riverbed SteelHead SD), dynamic routing, and a new offering for large-scale data center deployments.

Title: Orange Business Services Selects Riverbed SD-WAN for Hybrid Enterprise Portfolio
Date: October 17, 2017
Time: 1:20 – 1:40 pm

The SD-WAN revolution is well underway in response to evolving needs of enterprises wanting to connect their offices and mobile workers to applications in the cloud. Service providers are key catalyzers of that revolution by embracing a network-as-a-service paradigm, which allows them to quickly roll out and scale even highly customized connectivity offerings. In March, Orange Business Services announced it is integrating Riverbed’s SD-WAN solution, SteelConnect into its hybrid network offering. In this session, the largest MPLS provider in the world, and Riverbed, a leading SD-WAN vendor, will explain why a combination of MPLS and SD-WAN is the future of enterprise networking.

Riverbed SteelConnect Proof-of-Concept Demonstration

  • Cloud-centric workflow: SteelConnect enables network architects to first virtually design their environments and networks before deploying a single, self-programming piece of hardware to any branch office.
  • Ubiquitous and unified connectivity: SteelConnect provides a software-defined and application-defined connectivity fabric that spans WANs, remote office LANs and cloud infrastructure networks including AWS and Azure.
