Aceable Continues to Expand; Adds Four Executives and Nearly Doubles Its User Base

Austin-based tech startup continues to see rapid growth and hires within the state

AUSTIN, Texas--()--In response to continued growth, Aceable, the mobile education platform and makers of the first state-approved drivers ed app, has announced four new executive hires, including Randy Jonkers as CFO, Erin Defossé as COO (promoted), Jacob Rios as VP of Product, and Sarah Montante as VP of Brand.

In the last six months, the company has almost doubled (45 percent) its user base to 600,000 users and grown its number of employees to 80. The newest executives to join the team, include:

  • Randy Jonkers, CFO: Jonkers is a serial CFO with over 25 years of experience leading Austin technology companies. He has raised over $100MM in financing from VC, PE and debt sources, conducted due diligence on over $100MM of acquisition targets, integrated multiple acquisitions, and led $400MM in exits. Prior to Aceable, Jonkers was CFO of Planview, a SaaS company. He holds a BBA in accounting from The University of Texas at Austin.
  • Erin Defossé, COO: Defossé was previously Chief Product Officer at Aceable and will now oversee all engineering, product and operations as COO. Before joining Aceable, he was SVP of Product Management at Bazaarvoice and also founded the Magellan International School in Austin. He started his career as an engineer for NASA. Defossé holds an MBA and a BS in Aerospace Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin and an MS in Aeronautics & Astronautics from Stanford University.
  • Jacob Rios, VP of Product: Rios joins Aceable from Civitas Learning where he was Director of Product Management. He started his career at MIT’s Lincoln Laboratory working in the Ballistic Missile Defense department and subsequently managed product innovation in audio at Jawbone. He holds a BS in electrical engineering from Rice University and an MBA from UC Berkeley Haas School of Business, where he was a Mayfield Fellow.
  • Sarah Montante, VP of Brand: Montante has led marketing for both established and growth-stage businesses. She drove the $100MM Dry Spray launch for Axe, Dove and Degree at Unilever and oversaw brand marketing at YETI. Previously, she led consumer innovation for Scholastic.com and her early work in responsive digital advertising was featured in AdAge. Montante holds a BA in Literature from Yale University and an MBA from Harvard.
