SVAMC-YP: Silicon Valley Arbitration & Mediation Center Launches Young Professionals Group

PALO ALTO, Calif.--()--Silicon Valley Arbitration & Mediation Center (SVAMC) announced today the launch of a young professionals group, SVAMC-YP, which will bring together an international network of young professionals interested in the efficient resolution of technology-related disputes.

SVAMC-YP will serve as a platform to exchange views and learn from peers and senior professionals involved in technology-related industry sectors through various events and initiatives. Membership is open to persons under the age of 45 who are involved or have an interest in technology-related business disputes, including private practitioners, in-house counsel, arbitrators and mediators, academics and students, and others involved in the high-tech business community.

SVAMC-YP, while uniquely focused on the technology sector, will collaborate with other young attorneys’ groups set up by leading ADR institutions and technology sector associations.

An inaugural Steering Committee will include Rajat Rana of Dechert LLP and David Earnest of Shearman & Sterling LLP (Washington DC); Amy Endicott of Arnold & Porter Kaye Scholer LLP (San Francisco); Aaron Libbey of Palantir Technologies (New York); and Claire Morel de Westgaver of Bryan Cave LLP (London).

“The formation of SVAMC-YP is an exciting development for SVAMC and tech ADR. This group will provide a fantastic platform for young professionals in the legal and technology sectors to have an active dialogue about how dispute resolute mechanisms can mitigate against and resolve complex business challenges,” said Gary L. Benton, founder and Board Chairman of SVAMC.

SVAMC-YP already has two events organized for 2017, including a conference at Stanford Law School on November 2 to discuss “The Evolving Use of International Arbitration & Mediation for Disputes in the Technology Sector,” and a seminar in Washington DC on November 9 to discuss “Why Arbitration is Ideal for Resolving Technology Disputes.” Information about these events, the SVAMC-YP group, and how to become a member, can be found at https://svamc.org/yp/.
