Dr. Kim Leighton to be Inducted as Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing

Critical research in simulation and learning in nursing education cited

CHICAGO--()--Kim Leighton, PhD, RN, CHSE, CHSOS, ANEF and assistant dean of research and simulation faculty development at Adtalem Global Education (NYSE: ATGE), today was inducted as a fellow of the American Academy of Nursing at the Academy’s annual conference in Washington, D.C. Dr. Leighton is one of 173 distinguished nurses selected for the honor this year. The inductees join more than 2,500 current fellows. Academy fellows include hospital and government administrators, college deans, and renowned scientific researchers from the United States and throughout the world.

A prominent researcher in the field of simulation, Leighton was also recently recognized with an Excellence in Research Award by the International Nursing Association for Clinical Simulation and Learning (INACSL) for her work advancing research in the field of healthcare simulation. She was cited specifically for her work in simulation instrument development, which helped foster “best practice and evidence-based outcomes in simulation.”
