NASHVILLE, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Amerigroup is offering its $0 premium Medicare Advantage plans in 92 counties to Medicare-eligible Tennesseans for 2018. This offering complements a robust portfolio of health plans Amerigroup offers in the state. All of these plans are available for enrollment in this year’s Medicare annual election period (AEP).
The opportunity to enroll in a Medicare plan begins October 15 and continues through December 7. This is the one time each year when most people can pick or switch Medicare Advantage plans.

For 2018 insurance plans, individuals eligible for Medicare – people 65 years and older and those with certain disabilities – are able to enroll in Amerivantage Classic (HMO) or Amerivantage Plus (HMO). Tennesseans who are eligible for both Medicare and Medicaid – also known as dual-eligible – have the option of enrolling in Amerigroup’s dual-eligible plan – Amerivantage Dual Coordination (HMO SNP).

Amerigroup Medicare Advantage plan for individuals eligible for Medicare:

Amerivantage Classic (HMO) offers enrollees benefits such as $0
copay for two oral exams and two dental cleanings each year; a $0
copay for an annual eye exam; $0 copay for an annual hearing exam; a
benefit for eye glasses or contacts; a $3,000 hearing aid benefit per
year; and membership to SilverSneakers, a fitness program tailored to
older adults.
A new benefit for the 2018 year is that members now have access to 10 days of meals (2 per day) after a member leaves the hospital. This meal benefit aims to help members recover quicker after being discharged. Members also have access to a personal emergency response system (PERS). PERS gives members the ability to maintain their independence and delay, or possibly eliminate, the need to utilize assisted living services.
This plan is available in the following counties for a $0 monthly premium: Benton, Cannon, Cheatham, Claiborne, Clay, Davidson, Decatur, DeKalb, Dickson, Dyer, Fayette, Fentress, Gibson, Giles, Hamilton, Hardin, Henry, Hickman, Houston, Jackson, Jefferson, Knox, Lawrence, Lewis, Lincoln, Macon, Marshall, Maury, McNairy, Meigs, Montgomery, Overton, Perry, Polk, Robertson, Rutherford, Shelby, Stewart, Sumner, Tipton, Van Buren, Warren, Wayne, White, Williamson, and Wilson.
Individuals living in the following counties can enrollee for a $27 monthly premium: Anderson, Bedford, Bledsoe, Blount, Bradley, Campbell, Cocke, Coffee, Cumberland, Franklin, Grainger, Grundy, Hancock, Hawkins, Humphreys, Lauderdale, Loudon, Marion, Monroe, Moore, Morgan, Obion, Pickett, Rhea, Roane, Scott, Sequatchie, Sevier, Smith, Sullivan, Trousdale, Unicoi, Union, Washington, and Weakley. - Amerivantage Plus (HMO) gives enrollees of this $0 monthly premium plan benefits such as $0 copay for two oral exams and two dental cleanings each year, a $0 copay for an annual eye exam, $0 copay for an annual hearing exam, a benefit for eye glasses or contacts, a $3,000 hearing aid benefit per year, and membership to SilverSneakers. that gives members a number of competitive plan benefits, such as
preventive vision and comprehensive dental coverage, a $3,000 hearing
aid benefit per year, 6 podiatry appointments per year with $0 copay,
a quarterly stipend to pay for certain over-the-counter health
products, 10 days of meals (2 per day) after being discharged from the
hospital, the personal emergency response system (PERS), and
SilverSneakers.
This plan is available to dual-eligible individuals of all Tennessee counties except Greene, McMinn, and Putnam.
