LOUISVILLE, Ky.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Hilliard Lyons is pleased to announce that Tony Backert has been named to the 2017 edition of the Financial Times 401 Top Retirement Plan Advisers. The list recognizes the top financial advisers who specialize in serving defined contribution (DC) retirement plans.
This is the third annual FT 401 list, produced independently by the Financial Times in collaboration with Ignites Research, a subsidiary that provides business intelligence on asset management. This is also the third time Mr. Backert was named to this prestigious list – the only professional in Kentucky named all three years.
Financial advisers from across the broker-dealer and RIA channels who met minimum of requirements applied for consideration. The applicants were then graded on seven criteria: (1) DC assets under management; (2) DC AUM growth rate; (3) specialization in DC plans; (4) years of experience; (5) DC plan participation rate; (6) advanced industry credentials; and (7) compliance record.
The final FT 401 represents an impressive cohort of elite advisers: the “average” adviser in this year’s FT 401 has 19 years of experience advising DC plans and manages $1.6 billion in DC plan assets. The FT 401 advisers come from 38 states and Washington, D.C., and DC plans on average account for 74% of their total assets under management.
This honor is not indicative of the advisor’s future performance. Neither advisors nor their parent firms pay a fee to the Financial Times to be included in the FT 401.
