Because of the opioid and heroin epidemic these drug companies fueled, the U.S. now has a growing hepatitis C epidemic, shared dirty needles being a prime vehicle for spreading this disease.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimates the U.S. had 34,000 new cases of hepatitis C in 2015, triple the numbers from 2010. Hepatitis C killed 20,000 Americans last year, making it the nation’s most deadly disease.
