WASHINGTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sidley Austin LLP is pleased to announce that Justin Savage has joined the firm as a partner in its Washington, D.C. office. He will be a member of Sidley’s Environmental practice.
Mr. Savage represents energy, transportation and manufacturing companies as well as national trade associations in U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) and other agency investigations, enforcement actions, citizen suits, regulatory challenges and related matters. He has extensive experience with the Clean Air Act (CAA), Clean Water Act (CWA) and the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act (CERCLA) as well as transportation and administrative law matters.
Before returning to private practice, Mr. Savage was a senior lawyer in the Environmental Enforcement Section of the Environmental and Natural Resources Division of the DOJ for nearly a decade, where he litigated some of the largest environmental cases in U.S. history. His current practice encompasses many of the same environmental statutes he enforced at the DOJ, including the CAA, CWA and CERCLA.
“Justin is a highly skilled lawyer who is nationally recognized for his litigation and trial advocacy work, including handling complicated government environmental investigations and litigation matters of all types,” said David Buente, co-leader of Sidley’s Environmental practice. “His legal knowledge and litigation skills will be of significant value to our clients.”
