Citi Private Bank Continues Expansion of Metro New York Team

Names Rob Laughlin Regional Market Manager and James Rudolph Joins as Private Banker

NEW YORK--()--Citi Private Bank announced today that Rob Laughlin has been named Regional Market Manager for the Metro New York team. Mr. Laughlin will be relocating from Los Angeles, where he served as Regional Market Manager for the Western Region – South, to New York and will report to Ida Liu, Global Market Manager – Metro New York. “The Metro New York team has been steadily growing as we hire more bankers and specialists, invest in more resources and gain market share. Rob brings an extensive amount of experience to this new role, having managed and grown the Southern Western region over the past three years,” said Ms. Liu.

Prior to his role as Regional Market Manager in the West, Mr. Laughlin served as Head of Citi Trust North America, where he was responsible for overseeing business strategy and development, wealth planning, trust and estate administration, and client relationship management for global clients on the North American trust platform. Before joining Citi Private Bank, Mr. Laughlin spent seven years with Neuberger Berman Trust Company where he most recently was Chairman and President. He also spent more than 10 years with J.P. Morgan Private Bank in various leadership positions. Mr. Laughlin holds a B.S. from Syracuse University and a J.D. from Fordham University School of Law. He is a licensed attorney in New York and Connecticut, as well as a Certified Public Accountant in New York.

The firm also announced that James Rudolph has re-joined the firm as a Managing Director and Ultra High Net Worth Private Banker on the Metro New York Team. Mr. Rudolph will be based in New York and report to Ms. Liu as well. In this capacity, Mr. Rudolph will be responsible for creating and implementing bespoke trust and investment strategies for the firm’s New York based clients. “We are excited to welcome James back to Citi Private Bank and look forward to leveraging his deep trust and estate planning experience as we build out our team,” said Ms. Liu. Mr. Rudolph’s appointment marks the fourth high profile hire to the Metro New York team in the last year.

Prior to this, Mr. Rudolph served as Market Trust Director at U.S. Trust where he managed a team of 15 trust professionals and oversaw $13 billion in assets under management. Previously, he was a Senior Trust Officer and operated as a relationship manager for high net worth clients with trust, estate, family business, individual taxable and retirement accounts totalling over $2 billion in asset value. Prior to U.S. Trust, Mr. Rudolph spent four years with Citi as a Trust and Estate Advisor and an Assistant Trust Officer. He holds a J.D. from Hofstra University School of Law and a B.S. from the University of Scranton.
