Former AOL Executive Mike Conway Named Bidtellect’s New Chief Technology Officer

Company Also Hires First SVP Data Strategy to Enhance Programmatic Solutions

DELRAY BEACH, Fla.--()--Bidtellect, the content distribution platform built for marketers, today announced the appointment of Mike Conway, former AOL and Millennial Media Executive, as the company’s Chief Technology Officer. In his role as Bidtellect’s Chief Technology Officer, Mike will be responsible for overseeing all engineering and technology teams at Bidtellect and will report into Bidtellect Chief Executive Officer, Lon Otremba. The company also hired its first SVP of Data Strategy, former executive at x+1 Paul Davis, as they prioritize data and programmatic solutions for marketers.

Prior to joining Bidtellect, Mike was the Vice President of Engineering at Millennial Media for three years. Throughout his tenure, he built an engineering staff with a primary focus on mMedia, the company’s self-service monetization advertising platform for the in-app economy. Mike remained at Millennial Media through their acquisition by AOL in 2015 where he was Sr. Director of Data Services. Prior to that, he held leadership positions at Xerox and Celera Genomics, where he and his team managed and applied data to the creation of algorithms for human genome mapping.

“The digital industry is rapidly shifting towards data-driven strategies and programmatic executions and it’s critical that we invest in the right technology and resources to accelerate this development in Native and paid content distribution for marketers,” said Lon Otremba, Bidtellect CEO. “Bidtellect is staying ahead of these market trends and bringing Mike and Paul on board to lead Bidtellect’s technology initiatives into this new age of marketing, with a primary focus on big data, optimization and programmatic, is a great example of this.”

“The ability to use data to accelerate businesses has always interested me,” said Mr. Conway. “I have spent my career at the forefront of nascent technology industries on the cusp of experiencing tremendous growth, all driven by the advanced use of data. Right now there is infinite data available in digital media, and the opportunity for marketers to capitalize on this to enhance consumer connections is transformative for their relationships. Bidtellect is positioned to leverage this data in very powerful ways and I am excited to apply my experience in large scale data transactions to scale and support this opportunity for marketers.”

Bidtellect continues to be dedicated to investing in the necessary resources for the most advanced technology. In 2016, the company launched a partnership with Florida Atlantic University’s College of Engineering and Computer Science that includes an on premise lab. The lab is a research center that provides a collaboration with academia and Bidtellect’s technology team in the advancement of computational advertising. Bidtellect’s technology team works alongside graduate students with a focus on optimization, predictive modeling for real-time decision making research and engineering solutions for real-world ad tech problems.
