Ethan Temianka Departs Mesa Water® Board to Expand Patriarch Properties and Invest in Home Redevelopment in Columbus, Ohio

COSTA MESA, Calif.--()--Mesa Water District (Mesa Water®) Director Ethan Temianka has stepped down from the Mesa Water® Board of Directors (Board) effective Wednesday, July 19, 2017, to grow his business opportunities in Columbus, Ohio. Director Temianka is president and CEO of Patriarch Properties, a real estate investment company that purchases homes for redevelopment to sell or turn into affordable housing.

“The Board thanks Director Temianka for committing four and a half years of service to Mesa Water, including serving as Board Vice President for two years and recently serving as Board President,” said Board Vice President Jim Atkinson. “During his service to the community, Director Temianka encouraged redesigning MesaWater.org, initiating a social media program, and streamlining communications to improve transparency,” Atkinson further stated.

By unseating a 25-year incumbent, Director Temianka was elected to the Mesa Water Board in 2012 to represent the District’s Division III encompassing North Costa Mesa and landmarks such as South Coast Plaza, Segerstrom Center for the Arts, and Orange Coast College. He was re-elected in 2016 and served on Mesa Water’s Finance and Legislative & Public Affairs Committees, and as a liaison to the Cities of Costa Mesa and Newport Beach.

“I’m proud of the work we have accomplished over the past five years, serving our communities and bringing safe, high quality water to the people of Costa Mesa and Newport Beach, all while weathering a serious drought, improving transparency, and implementing a long-term financial plan for budget management and fiscal sustainability,” said Director Temianka.

In 2014, Director Temianka was named one of OC Register’s “40 Under 40”, recognizing Orange County’s most impressive young leaders and professionals. He holds a degree in Political Science from the University of California, Irvine.

Mesa Water plans to fill the Board vacancy through an appointment process. Interested applicants must live in Division III, be at least 18 years old, a registered voter, and not disqualified from holding civil office by the Constitution or any law of the State.
