Cubic Transportation Systems and Microsoft experts share insights on security, scalability and performance of Microsoft Azure Cloud

SAN DIEGO--()--Cubic Transportation Systems (CTS), a business unit of Cubic Corporation (NYSE:CUB), today announced that Andrew Tate, senior solutions architect for CTS, along with Nick Smith, principal cloud specialist for Microsoft, will speak on the benefits of cloud-based back offices for tolling agencies at the International Bridge, Tunnel and Turnpike Association (IBTTA)/Transportation Research Board (TRB) Joint Symposium on Managed Lanes & All-Electronic Tolling in Dallas, Texas from July 17 – 19.

“Cubic’s collaboration with Microsoft through the Azure cloud platform provides a delivery model for computing resources in which various servers, applications, data and other resources are integrated and provided as a service over the internet,” said Tate. “Cubic and Microsoft are already advancing the security, scalability and performance of back offices in public transit and we can apply a similar delivery model to electronic tolling.”

"Cubic's innovative approach delivers a transportation platform taking advantage of the Microsoft Azure cloud platform, allowing for a more flexible and scalable solution meeting today's electronic tolling and back office management needs with the capability to evolve to support future system requirements," said Mike Geertsen, government solutions manager, Worldwide Public Sector at Microsoft Corp. "The Microsoft platform is uniquely capable in helping agencies do and achieve more, and we continue to support Cubic's holistic approach of transforming cities worldwide."

The Cubic Tolling Back Office solution is designed for multiagency use while giving each tolling entity control over its own business rules, revenue apportionment and general ledger. The solution lays a solid foundation for account-based payment processing and customer services across entire states or multistate regions for any number of agencies or types of operators.
