PHILADELPHIA--()--Emmy®-nominated actor and comedian Billy Gardell returns to his stand-up roots with a special performance at the SugarHouse Casino Event Center on Friday, October 13, at 9 p.m. Tickets for Gardell’s show go on sale Friday, July 14 and cost $39-$59.

No stranger to comedy clubs, Gardell began his entertainment career with a string of stand-up performances before landing the lead role in CBS’ hit television series “Mike & Molly,” co-starring Melissa McCarthy. Having charmed audiences as Officer Mike Biggs for six years, Gardell has kept the laughs coming with his stand-up tour and comedy specials, “Billy Gardell: Halftime” and “Billy Gardell Presents Road Dogs.”

“Billy Gardell is one of the funniest acts out there — come see him live at The Event Center and wear your laughing pants!” said Wendy Hamilton, general manager of SugarHouse Casino. “Philly’s become a burgeoning hub for comedy and we’re thrilled to provide our city with some of the best names in the industry.”

Gardell first took the stage in 1987 and has since led an exciting and unpredictable career, earning multiple television and movie roles and once opening for comedic legend George Carlin. Likeable, down-to-earth and armed with a clever wit, Gardell delivers a powerhouse performance, offering anecdotal tales about fatherhood and family. In addition to becoming a hit stand-up comedian, Gardell continues to enjoy television success, starring in the 2017 CMT drama series “Sun Records” and receiving a Daytime Emmy® nomination for hosting “Monopoly Millionaires’ Club.”

Tickets for Gardell’s show, and for all SugarHouse performances, including Golden Boys (July 21), Kellie Pickler (Aug. 5), Rick Schuler’s tribute to John Denver (Aug. 26) and Scotty McCreery (Sept. 16) can be purchased on the SugarHouse Casino headliners concert page.

In addition to live performances and concerts, the SugarHouse Casino Event Center can be reserved for a variety of occasions, including weddings, corporate receptions, seminars, trade shows and more. The space features floor-to-ceiling windows and panoramic views of the Delaware River waterfront and the Ben Franklin Bridge. Parking is always free.
