A.M. Best Offers Free Digital Edition of Best's Review’s July 2017 Issue; Attracting and Retaining Talent in Insurance Industry Highlighted

OLDWICK, N.J.--()--A.M. Best is offering a free, shareable digital edition of the July 2017 issue of Best’s Review®. This issue focuses on an emerging concern in the insurance industry – attracting and retaining new talent as experienced employees begin to retire. In what areas do insurers need the most new hires and what are they doing to attract young people? Are they overlooking a pool of young talent in their own call centers? Millennials voice their opinions on the steps insurers are taking to improve their image, which efforts are successful and what obstacles they still face.

“Insurers could see as many as 25% of their professionals retire by 2018, and by 2030, nearly half of the current workforce will have retired. Yet in the midst of this wave of retirements, the industry is also adding new jobs,” said Patricia Vowinkel, executive editor, Best’s Review. “While some roles will disappear due to automation and artificial intelligence, experts say it’s not enough to close the gap. Who will fill those empty seats? We spoke with insurers about their recruitment efforts as well as with millennials to find out about what really keeps them with an employer.”

The July issue also features the Leaders Package – our annual roundup that includes the top global insurance brokers, the top 200 U.S. property/casualty writers, the top 200 U.S. life/annuity insurers and the top 75 North American public insurers ranked by assets and by revenue. Insurers that have maintained a Best’s Financial Strength Rating of A or higher for 50 and 75 consecutive years are also highlighted.
