Hollister Offers Real-Time Citizen Communication; Police Department Partners With FOREalert Over Independence Day Holiday

SUNNYVALE, Calif.--()--The Police Department of Hollister, CA., is partnering with FOREalert to enhance response time for illegal aerial fireworks on the July 4th Holiday.

FOREalert is a free smartphone APP that streamlines real-time, two-way communication among citizens and the authorities. The citizen can stay completely anonymous since no registration, login or contact information is required to use the APP. The APP can be downloaded at the APP store for iOS devices now.

When the authorities initiate an alert, the citizen will receive this alert on their FOREalert APP and if needed will be able to reply directly through the APP. The citizen will also be able to initiate an alert to the authorities when they notice public disturbances.

Chief of Police Dave Westrick said, “This free APP from FOREalert will enable better communication between the authorities and the citizens. I encourage each of you to download the APP. This APP will be used on a trial basis over the 4th of July Holiday to report illegal fireworks. Illegal fireworks are a continual problem and have led to fires and many injuries over the years.”

Vice President of FOREalert Corporation Christopher Scerri said, “We are honored to have our technology utilized to empower the citizens of Hollister and the Hollister Police Department in efficiently and effectively responding to situations.” The iOS version is ready for download at https://www.forealert.com on iPhone. The Android version will be available shortly.

The Hollister Police Department is interested in feedback for the APP from the public to determine the effectiveness, ease of use and potential improvement of communication between the public and police. A successful use of this device over the holiday, may lead to a long-term partnership and an expansion of uses to include other crisis situations, public dangers ad general disturbances.
