FORT WORTH, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Property Damage Appraisers (PDA) is pleased to announce that its appraisal staff are now certified through the company’s Recreational Vehicle (RV) Certification Program. The specialized training focuses on writing estimates for recreational vehicles including Class A, B, C and Super C motor homes, 5th wheel campers, travel trailers, toy haulers, pop-up campers, truck campers and camper trailers.

The class covers training on damage analysis; exterior and interior components; construction; electrical, plumbing and gas systems; finishing procedures; total losses; and investigations.
While the course covers live estimate training and real-world examples of actual claims, it also includes a hands-on approach that takes students to inspect and view RVs in-person. They get to see the vehicles under construction so that they’re able to witness the process and have a better understanding of it.
Similar to PDA’s heavy equipment training school, another focus of the course is on alternative parts usage (APU). PDA estimators receive training on how to find the price of used parts immediately online, as opposed to waiting on an RV dealer to reply back about the cost of original equipment manufactured (OEM) parts, making the claims process more cost effective and reducing cycle time. Attendees also learn how parts and materials are ordered for more accurate invoicing in the estimating process.
