On Point Moving Honored at California Small Business Day™ 2017 by Assemblymember Shirley Weber

Local veteran-owned moving company helps San Diego veterans by offering one free move a month for a veteran in need

SACRAMENTO, Calif.--()--On Point Moving, a San Diego-based, veteran-owned moving company, was honored by Assemblymember Shirley Weber at California Small Business Day™ as Small Business of the Year in the 79th Assembly District. On Point Moving was celebrated for its hard work, dedication to the community, and commitment to serving military families and veterans.

On Point Moving understands a move can be especially stressful in the face of deployment and offers military discounts on moving services. It also helps active duty personnel and their families navigate military documentation and base protocol, easing some of the stress of moving for military families.

Commitment to service extends beyond active duty military for On Point. The owner, Clayton Rusoe, donates one free move to a veteran in need each month and volunteers time to community clean-up events around San Diego. Veterans interested in applying for a free move should email customerservice@onpointmoving.com for more information.

“On Point Moving is an exemplary veteran-owned company with a strong community focus and a commitment to serve veterans and military families,” said Assemblymember Weber. “I’m proud to name On Point as my Small Business of the Year.”

On Point Moving is a veteran-owned and operated moving company serving San Diego County and its surrounding areas. It offers a wide range of services including full-service residential and commercial moving, as well as long distance moves and storage.

Clayton Rusoe, On Point’s owner, joined the military in 2006 as a seventeen-year-old. He served five years in the United States Marine Corps, completing two deployments to the Middle East. After becoming service disabled, Rusoe came up with the idea to start On Point Moving from his moving experiences while serving in the military. He knew he could provide a better service than what was being offered.

As a veteran, Rusoe knows what is involved in military and government moves, including protocol to be followed and paperwork that is needed, which has led On Point Moving to become the PPM provider of choice for many military families.

"This would not have been possible without the hard work and dedication of On Point Moving staff and our affiliates; the support from our family, friends, and loyal customers; and the advice and coaching from the SBDC,” said Rusoe. “We thank you all. We will continue to work harder each day so we remain always on point and continue to grow and increase our positive impact on our communities, country, and the world around us."
