GREENWOOD VILLAGE, Colo.--()--Great-West Financial congratulates professional golfer and marketing partner Jason Dufner on a dramatic, final round win at the Memorial Tournament, which concluded June 4 at Muirfield Village Golf Club in Dublin, Ohio. After breaking the 36-hole scoring record (-14) before the weekend, Dufner overcame a challenging Saturday and rebounded Sunday with a 4-under 68 to earn his fifth PGA Tour victory.

"It was a great thrill to watch ‘The Duf’ win the Memorial, particularly with his persistence throughout the weekend, which allowed him to come back for a final-round victory on Sunday," said Bob Shaw president of Individual Markets for Great-West Financial. "Jason's victory showcased his remarkable skill and determination — key attributes that drove his success in a very tight competition. Great-West Financial is proud to be associated with a terrific talent like Jason, who embodies many of the very best aspects of his sport."

Dufner finished at 13-under and joins PGA Tour legend Jack Nicklaus as the only Ohio-born winners of the Memorial, the tournament Nicklaus created in 1976 and won twice.

Dufner has been an important brand ambassador for Great-West Financial since 2016. He has enjoyed many successes in recent years. In 2013, he finished strong in the Masters, US Open and Open Championship and won his first major tournament – the PGA Championship that year. In 2012, he won his first PGA Tour event – the Zurich Classic of New Orleans. He followed his win in the Big Easy with his second PGA Tour victory at the HP Byron Nelson Championship. During that successful 2012 season, Dufner ranked 6th in the Official World Golf Ranking, a career high.

After overcoming a neck injury in 2014 and 2015, Dufner resumed his winning ways with victories at the 2016 CareerBuilder Challenge and the Franklin Templeton Shootout with fellow PGA Tour player Brandt Snedeker.

Dufner participates in Great-West’s advertising, social media efforts and overall support of global marketing initiatives. In addition, the golfer sports Great-West Financial-branded competitive clothing and participates in year-round events sponsored by the firm.

Dufner, 40, turned pro in 2000 and has been on the PGA Tour since 2001. The Cleveland native played collegiate golf at Auburn University where he was an All American Honorable Mention. In 2014, Dufner founded Jason Dufner's Charitable Foundation, a nonprofit committed to ending child hunger in Lee County, Alabama.
