Cycle Media Forms: New Media Holding Company Launches Comprising Cycle and Laundry Service with Plans to Scale, Expand with $150M for Acquisitions

Advertising Industry Veteran, Jason Kelly, Joins Cycle Media as Chief Strategy Officer to Head Partnerships and Acquisitions

NEW YORK--()--Cycle Media, a new media holding company, was announced today and houses both Cycle, a media network boasting one of the most engaged audiences on the internet, and Laundry Service, a full-service marketing agency and 2017 Ad Age A-List winner. Cycle Media will leverage these marquee portfolio companies to build a new kind of digital media business.

An anchor to that strategy involves building and acquiring additional media brands and platforms, as well as expanding its current portfolio of properties into new verticals, inclusive of sports, women’s interest, and more. Cycle Media is a subsidiary of Wasserman, which will provide up to $150M for the initial phase of acquisitions.

To support this growth plan, longtime digital media executive Jason Kelly has joined Cycle Media as Chief Strategy Officer reporting to Stein. Kelly will work to scale the business through both organic and acquisition-driven opportunities. He joins Cycle Media with several years’ experience serving as a senior-level executive at advertising companies like Millennial Media and Sociomantic.

“As the media and advertising industries continue to converge, businesses must demonstrate excellence in both categories to find success in either. Jason Kelly has an astounding, proven record across both traditional and modern media, working to scale offerings in a rapidly shifting digital economy. He will be instrumental to our success as we scale into new verticals, validate this new media model, and remain at the forefront of its evolution," said Stein.

Kelly has a proven track record leading companies through massive growth stages and on to acquisition. He helped facilitate the sale of Millennial Media to AOL, the sale of ad platform Sociomantic to Tesco / Dunnhumby, and the sale of Admeld to Google—functioning in the roles of President, CEO, and CRO, respectively.

“Cycle and Laundry Service have each found unique ways to combine the best of media, content, and advertising,” said Kelly. “Through partnerships and strategic acquisitions, Cycle Media will push even harder to serve as a single hub for brands to fulfill all of their digital media needs. I’m excited to focus on curating a network of industry-leading media brands within Cycle Media that offer our clients the highest quality output and maximum return.”

Founded in 2011, Laundry Service is a best-in-class agency providing the world’s top brands with premium content, influencers, and distribution. Cycle, which launched in early 2016, delivers modern editorial and impactful branded content to a highly engaged global audience while offering the finest in white glove service to media buyers.

Cycle Media is a wholly owned subsidiary of Wasserman, a full-service culture centric agency representing some of the world’s best brands and athletes. Under Stein, Cycle Media will continue to operate autonomously and collaborate and leverage resources where beneficial.
