Bemidji Bus Line Selects BigRoad’s Electronic Logging Device (ELD) to Achieve ELD Mandate Compliance

The BigRoad Mobile App and DashLink ELD accommodates different compliance rules within the same fleet

“We needed a solution that could allow our drivers to switch between just tracking their hours-of-service or running an electronic logging device,” notes Phil Cox, Safety and Compliance Manager at Bemidji Bus Line. “We looked at other options, but most providers required our entire fleet to run ELDs. There was no flexibility for passenger carriers whose compliance rules change depending on the vehicle or length of trip.”

Both the DashLink ELD and the BigRoad Mobile App push drivers’ data to the cloud, allowing office staff to use the BigRoad Web App to access information in real-time. “The BigRoad Web App has made it so much easier for our dispatchers to track safety and compliance,” Cox shares. “If we see a driver is at risk of a violation, we can send them a quick message in the two-way messenger to review their logs. Since switching to BigRoad, we have significantly improved our hours-of-service compliance and reduced form-and-manner errors.“
