Western Allied Mechanical, Inc. Named 2017 Innovator Award Winner at Dexter + Chaney’s Connect 2017 User Conference

SEATTLE--()--Dexter + Chaney, the leader in cloud-based construction ERP software, is pleased to announce that Menlo Park, Calif.-based Western Allied Mechanical has been named its 2017 Innovator Award winner. The award, honoring a client company that has significantly grown or improved its operations through utilizing Spectrum® Construction Software, is presented annually at Dexter + Chaney’s Connect User Conference.

“It is an incredible honor to receive the Innovator Award,” said Western Allied Mechanical Operations Manager Jim Jeffrey. “We have worked very hard over the years to grow our company to where it is today and our partnership with Dexter + Chaney and Spectrum has been crucial to our success. Being recognized among our peers at the user conference was something really special.”

Western Allied’s history dates back to 1960 when Pat Mattson founded Western Allied Corporation as a heating, air conditioning and ventilation contractor in Santa Fe Springs, Calif. A Northern California office was established in Belmont, Calif. in 1972, but moved to Menlo Park in 1977. Western Allied Service Company of Northern California was established in 1973 to perform the service and maintenance of the HVAC systems designed and installed by Western Allied Corporation. Western Allied Service Company of Southern California, originally a division of Western Allied Corporation, was spun off as a separate company in November of 1976.

In 2003, the owners of Western Allied reorganized the company into northern and southern Divisions. A new company, Western Allied Mechanical, was formed to operate in the Northern California area. This company consisted of the original Western Allied Northern California construction division, merged with the service division to form a full-service HVAC contracting firm specializing in design/build projects. Today, Western Allied Mechanical, Inc. delivers high-quality, energy-efficient projects with an emphasis in US Green Building Council (LEED) projects, life science projects, and high-efficiency office complexes. The company maintains its own sheet metal and piping shops and it is supported by a service division with more than 30 technicians available for 24/7 HVAC services.

“Western Allied has shown that it is a company that embraces leading-edge technology and thinks ahead of the curve when it comes to putting new ideas in action,” said Dexter + Chaney President and CEO Norbert Orth. “In addition to leading their own company to new heights, several members of the Western Allied management team have been instrumental in providing crucial feedback and sharing new ideas with our own teams here at Dexter + Chaney, helping to influence current and future software development. Western Allied is more than deserving of our 2017 Innovator Award.”

Also honored as Innovator Award finalists during Dexter + Chaney’s Connect 2017 User Conference were Bismarck, N.D.-based MDU Construction Services Group, Inc. and Portland, Ore.-based Christenson Electric, Inc.

Each year, Dexter + Chaney’s Connect User Conference pulls together hundreds of clients, exhibitors, prospects, guests and Dexter + Chaney employees for educational courses, networking and learning opportunities. Now in its 21st year, Connect 2017 featured two days of main-conference educational classes, a special executive track with interactive presentations from industry leaders, product roundtables, one-on-one training sessions, development and integration partner exhibits, networking events and keynote speeches from Chairman and Co-founder John Chaney and award-winning motivational speaker John Foley. There were also special pre-conference classes on reporting, building custom dashboard applications, human resources, and payroll.
