LOS ANGELES--()--The Michelson Found Animals Foundation (Found Animals), Inc. is excited to announce the launch of their fourth annual Saving Pets Challenge. This 31-day competition, hosted through the popular fundraising platform CrowdRise, has animal welfare organizations across the U.S. competing to raise money benefiting the ultimate goal of saving pets and reducing shelter euthanasia. The Saving Pets Challenge begins on Tuesday, May 2, 2017, at 12 p.m. EDT, and concludes on Thursday, June 1, 2017, at 1:59:59 p.m. EDT. Registration for the challenge will remain open through May 12 at 5 p.m. EDT, and Michelson Found Animals encourages organizations big and small to get involved.

“While the challenge only began three years ago, we continue to see increased participation from organizations of all sizes,” said Aimee Gilbreath, executive director of Michelson Found Animals Foundation. “We want to set a record for total funds raised during the challenge. With the weekly bonus challenges, we’ve created new ways throughout the event for organizations to earn prize money as they work to accomplish our mutual goal of saving more at-risk pets.”

The top five groups who raise the most money during the Saving Pets Challenge will be rewarded with cash grants from Found Animals.

  • First place - $50,000
  • Second place - $30,000
  • Third place - $20,000
  • Fourth place - $10,000
  • Fifth place - $5,000

In addition to the grand prizes and the money raised on their own during the challenge, Found Animals offers weekly Bonus Challenges totaling $35,000.

“At Found Animals our mission is ‘Saving Pets, Enriching Lives,’ and by co-hosting this annual competition we are able to have hundreds of animal welfare organizations be part of that same mission and work together in achieving the goal of saving pets,” said Dr. Gary Michelson, founder of Michelson Found Animals Foundation.
