Belden Maximizes Installer Efficiency with the FX ECX Patch Panel System

A new benchmark for best-in-class, the ECX solution provides effortless deployment for LAN environments

ST. LOUIS--()--Belden Inc., a global leader in signal transmission solutions for mission-critical applications, has launched its FiberExpress (FX) Enterprise Closet X (ECX) Patch Panel System.

The inability to effectively service legacy constructions and moves, adds and changes (MACs) are major obstacles for contractors and installers. Belden FX ECX dramatically improves efficiency, saving valuable time with patent-pending, innovative features like front/rear removable cassettes, delivering unmatched installation flexibility in tight spaces.

Contractors and installers operate under tight timelines, with no room in the budget to troubleshoot unexpected fiber link failures from damaged or pinched fibers. Belden FX ECX simplifies splice cassette design, eliminating fiber pinch points by integrating slack management into the see-through cassette lid.

Space constraints are also a significant challenge for legacy deployments, specifically where a small number of copper ports require a dedicated patch panel. By using Belden KeyConnect frames, copper and fiber can be deployed in the FX ECX system at the same time, saving rack space while foregoing the unnecessary cost of additional panels.

“The FX ECX platform was developed in collaboration with customers and partners with the goal of creating a best-in-class solution,” says Matthew Hurst, product line manager for copper/fiber connectivity at Belden. “We listened carefully to gather feedback, and then set out to deliver a system that exceeds the benchmark established by competitive offerings available in the market today.”

Only Belden’s innovative enterprise connectivity solutions take a universal approach to customers’ enterprises, resolving signal transmission needs with IP- and legacy-based solutions that enable a smooth migration to convergence. Belden’s extensive portfolio spans LAN, data centers, building automation and security and access control to keep information running smoothly. Outstanding global service and support capabilities and application-specific warranty programs complete Belden’s unique offering.
