DENVER--(BUSINESS WIRE)--An insightful new feature-length documentary celebrating the life and work of the late actor Heath Ledger brings a new understanding of the man behind his public image. Ledger was one of the most gifted Hollywood talents in a generation, who appeared in a string of seminal films including the culturally defining “Brokeback Mountain,” and in “The Dark Knight,” for which he won a posthumous Academy Award®. However, Ledger was so much more than the characters he depicted on screen, and audiences will come to know that side of him as well during a special cinema event.
Presented by Fathom Events in partnership with Network Entertainment and co-produced by Spike TV, the feature-length version of “I Am Heath Ledger” will play in U.S. movie theaters for one night on Wednesday, May 3, 2017, at 7:30 p.m. local time. This special cinema presentation will include an additional segment exclusive to movie theater audiences, featuring never-before-seen footage of interviews with Heath's family and friends, sharing their personal stories about and memories of the legendary actor and artist.
Following its cinema debut, Spike TV will show an edited version of the documentary on May 17.
Tickets for “I Am Heath Ledger” are available online at www.FathomEvents.com or at participating theater box offices. Fans throughout the U.S. will be able to enjoy the event in 300 select movie theaters through Fathom’s Digital Broadcast Network (DBN).
