Future Facilities to Present at 2017 Data Center World Global Conference

Director Sherman Ikemoto to discuss predicting and correcting data center airflow and cooling issues prior to their appearance through the use of engineering simulation

LOS ANGELES--()--Future Facilities Inc., provider of engineering simulation software for data center design and operational planning, announced today that Director Sherman Ikemoto will be speaking about engineering simulation at the 2017 Data Center World Global Conference in Los Angeles. The session will be held on Thursday, April 6th from 10:45-11:45 AM in Room 503 of the West Hall of the Los Angeles Convention Center.

Part of the educational track “The Cutting Edge,” the seminar is titled “A Data Center Crystal Ball: Using Engineering Simulation to Predict and Correct Airflow/Cooling Problems Before Implementation.” While best-practices for airflow management in the industry are well known, this session instead considers how to predict the behavior of airflow prior to the implementation of a new solution and how to correct or improve cooling efficiency for different possible scenarios. This method of predictive analysis is made possible through the creation of a “virtual facility” backed by Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) to mimic an actual environment. Using engineering simulation, data center managers can model scenarios to understand the impact of cooling and airflow and how these factors influence operational efficiency, capacity utilization, and overall business operations.

The seminar will also feature a new performance assessment tool from the Green Grid called the Performance Indicator. Attendees will gain insight into how this tool can be utilized and why operational CFD modeling is imperative to the successful modern data center.

This April, Future Facilities will release version 11 of its 6SigmaDCX software. This edition of the engineering simulation solution has integrated Green Grid’s Performance Indicator calculator and offers improvements to usability, performance and existing toolset integrations. Release 11 also includes the introduction of a new web product, 6SigmaAccess. A preview of DCX11, including 6SigmaAccess, will be available at Data Center World at Future Facilities' booth #1245.
