Panduit® to Present Industry Leading Fiber Research and Product Solutions at the 2017 Optical Networking and Communication Conference and Exhibition (OFC)

TINLEY PARK, Ill.--()--Panduit Corp., a world-class developer and provider of leading-edge physical infrastructure and connectivity solutions, announces participation at the Optical Networking and Communication Conference and Exhibition (OFC) at the Los Angeles Convention Center in California, March 19 - 23, 2017. During the technical conference, Panduit will contribute two presentations that summarize recent advancements made in the field of data center communications. While at the exhibition, Panduit will also demonstrate some of its leading-edge fiber optic communications products.

At the technical conference, Dr. Jose Castro, Research Manager, Fiber Optics will present for Panduit at the Data Center Interconnect Technologies and Detectors/Receivers session. Dr. Castro’s first presentation titled “Eye Skew Modeling, Measurements and Mitigation Methods for VCSEL PAM-4 Channels at Data Rates over 66 Gb/s”, describes the causes of signal degradation and proposes mitigation techniques in VCSEL based directly modulated PAM-4 channels. His second presentation, titled “Spectral-temporal Imaging Techniques for Real Time Characterization of High Speed VCSEL Mode Interaction” presents a novel technique to characterize a critical source of noise in VCSEL based transceivers.

“These two technical contributions demonstrate our longstanding commitment to original research and collaboration with industry leaders,” said Andy Stroede, Senior Vice President and Managing Director of Panduit Research and Development. “Enabled by our world-class fiber optics laboratory, these studies connect fundamental principles to the most important factors limiting the reaches of the highest performance multimode fiber communication systems.”

During the exhibition, at the Ethernet Alliance demonstrations, Panduit will display the HD Flex™ Fiber Cabling System, which is designed to enable organizations to easily scale up density and execute moves, adds, and changes quickly and safely, without disrupting adjacent circuits. Also featured are PanMPO™ Fiber Optic Assemblies with the unique design of the patented PanMPO™ Connector allowing rapid gender and polarity change in the field that enables seamless, standards-compliant cable plant migration from duplex based applications (e.g. 10G Ethernet) to parallel optics based applications (e.g. 40/100G Ethernet). Finally, Panduit will be demonstrating 100Gb/s SWDM4 transmission using 300 meters of Panduit’s revolutionary Signature Core™ Fiber Optic Cabling System and QSFP28 Direct Attach Copper breakout cable assemblies supporting 100G and 25G Ethernet speeds.
