Netkom Leverages Stratoscale’s Cloud Infrastructure to Onboard New Customers within Hours

Netkom selects Stratoscale to deploy an AWS-compatible region within its datacenter, which will be leveraged to offer Netkom’s customers advanced cloud services

HERZLIYA, Israel--()--Stratoscale announced that Netkom, a Switzerland-based IT service provider, has implemented Symphony 3 as its cloud infrastructure solution, transforming Netkom’s datacenter into an AWS-compatible cloud region. In tandem with the launch of its new cloud services, which is based on Stratoscale’s solution, Netkom will present at CeBIT 2017 on March 20 – 24.

Driven by its ongoing cloud discussions with customers, Netkom’s focus has shifted toward offering cloud services as a seamless extension of their customers’ existing enterprise datacenter, combining SaaS, IaaS and PaaS solutions. Netkom wanted to build a robust and highly available cluster that would ensure the scalability and performance required to offer public cloud services, while reducing the complexity associated with optimizing and scaling infrastructure. “Obtaining optimal infrastructure efficiencies and streamlining our customer onboarding process was a critical consideration in evaluating various cloud infrastructure solution vendors,” explained Andre Matter, Netkom’s CEO.

Stratoscale enables enterprises and MSPs to deploy an AWS region on top of existing hardware by transforming any x86 server into an elastic, highly utilized and consumable cloud that is AWS compatible. Deployed in minutes, Stratoscale enables service providers to align with an AWS-cloud-first strategy. Stratoscale offers sought-after flexibility and simplicity in managing all workloads and resources via a single pane control, decoupled from any hardware vendor constraints.

We specifically designed our product to cater to the special requirements of service providers,” said Ariel Maislos, Stratoscale’s CEO. “Capabilities such as multi-tenancy, quota-based consumption, chargeback and self-service are critical to any effective cloud offering. By offering service providers all the cloud services customers have grown to appreciate, supported by high availability and resiliency, we can offer service providers an enterprise grade solution that can be deployed and marketed immediately.”

Netkom leveraged existing hardware to deploy Stratoscale. The flexibility in using any server and storage solution was very attractive to Netkom because it eliminated vendor lock-in constraints. Netkom was also able to reduce customer onboarding from a week to just a few hours.

Our partnership with Stratoscale and the implementation was fully aligned with Netkom's strategy to reduce our support and datacenter maintenance,” said Matthias Imhof, Netkom’s COO. “Stratoscale offered the simplicity of building and managing a complete cluster within a few hours and provided the availability, scalability and performance we need to onboard new customers.”

Late last year, Stratoscale announced Stratoscale Symphony 3, the third generation of the company’s comprehensive cloud data center software, as well as the availability of a fully managed and AWS-compatible relational database service which provides single-click deployment and seamless scalability while removing operational friction. With the added services and capabilities, Stratoscale is providing a superior solution for Netkom to meet market demands as the industry evolves.
