Yewno Surpasses 100M Analyzed Assets to Fuel Next Generation Research and Learning

Education product Discover enriched with growth of quality academic resources and publisher partnerships

REDWOOD CITY, Calif.--()--Yewno, a new technology powering knowledge discovery, announced today that it has ingested its 100 millionth content asset. Yewno enhances human learning and understanding by extracting and connecting concepts from vast volumes of content and data. The content within Yewno’s education product Discover covers a broad range of academically relevant subject fields and formats including scholarly and trade journal and book content, Open Access and Open Educational Resources, quality web sources and data sets, and institutional repositories.

We are pleased with achieving this significant milestone so quickly and continue to accelerate towards the next milestone,” comments Yewno’s CEO and founder, Ruggero Gramatica. “We are committed to the continued growth of our content base. Each new asset dynamically grows the technology’s network of connected concepts and enhances the discovery and learning experience of our researcher, teacher and student users.”

New content partners providing publications to Yewno include Gale, a Cengage Company, SPIE - the international society for optics and photonics, the American Medical Association, Stanford University Press, and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development.

The JAMA Network’s Senior Vice President and Publisher, Thomas J. Easley describes the value of having their content understood and accessed in a more profound way, “Our goal is to provide the researcher and learner the highest quality peer-reviewed clinical research and commentary, and offering them innovative ways to make new inferences and explore interdisciplinary subjects helps us achieve that goal.”

A focus at Gale is to make our content interoperable on all of the platforms our customers want to use,” said Liz Mason, Vice President for Product at Gale, which has indexed millions of documents from Gale Primary Sources Collections and Academic OneFile with Yewno. “Adding our content to the Yewno platform makes it possible for researchers to draw new insights about important primary sources and advance their research in ways previously not possible.”

Eric Pepper, SPIE Director of Publications explains that “SPIE strives to enable researchers and students in science and engineering to find and use the optics and photonics research we publish that is pertinent to their work. The Yewno research tools offer impressive new ways to discover this information. In addition, librarians at institutions that subscribe to the SPIE Digital Library were eager to have the SPIE content in the Yewno corpus and we are happy to support this activity.”

Director of the Stanford University Press, Alan Harvey explains, “Yewno is a strong and versatile tool that allows researchers and publishers to bridge disciplinary divides in a way that hasn’t been possible before.” Harvey continues, “All the knowledge and content contained within our books has been unlocked to aid in the discovery and mapping of interrelated ideas and concepts across fields. Our mission is to advance scholarship; Yewno will prove a great enabler of this mission.”

Toby Green, Chief Operating Officer of the OECD Public Affairs and Communications Directorate, states, “We are delighted to be involved with Yewno and the innovative Discover product. It offers a completely new and intuitive way for OECD content to be discovered. We look forward to continuing the partnership as the range of Yewno products expands.”

Collaboration with prestigious organizations like OECD, Gale, AMA, SPIE and SUP makes the high quality and incredible breadth of Yewno Discover’s connections possible,” continues Ruggero. “Our goal is to continue to partner with publishers and content curators to enhance the research value of our products.”
