NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Liberty International Underwriters (LIU), part of Liberty Mutual Insurance, has added Global Financial Risk (GFR) coverage to its U.S. product offering. Alexandre Egnell has been appointed as senior vice president, with responsibility for the development and strategy of LIU’s GFR product line. He will be based in New York and report to Michael Finnegan, chief underwriting officer for LIU U.S.
LIU’s GFR coverage helps protect against the varying and complex perils that arise from trade credit or political risk, such as expropriation or contract frustration. Liberty’s global client base for these coverage areas includes government agencies, international banks, multinationals and global commodity companies, as well as a wide range of exporters and contractors.
“Alex understands the complex financial risks businesses face worldwide. His recent experience working in Europe, combined with a previous 10-year assignment here in the U.S., illustrates our commitment to bringing global expertise to local markets”, said Finnegan.
Mr. Egnell has transferred to LIU’s New York office from Paris, where he led the GFR team for Liberty Specialty Markets – Liberty Mutual’s specialty lines operation in Europe – since 2010. He also managed the development and roll-out of Liberty’s specialty trade credit, contract frustration, political risk, and bank products in Continental Europe.
Mr. Egnell’s New York-based team is strengthened by a business development office in Washington, D.C., led by Edith Quintrell, an industry veteran with global business expertise.
