ezCater CEO Honored with Hospitality Technology’s Top Women in Foodservice Technology Award

Stefania Mallett Recognized as Industry Innovator Alongside Executives from Dunkin’ Brands and Panera Bread

LAS VEGAS--()--Today, at the Multi-Unit Restaurant Technology Conference (MURTEC), ezCater co-founder and CEO, Stefania Mallett, is being honored with a Top Women in Foodservice Technology Award from Hospitality Technology Magazine. In its inaugural year, the award recognizes outstanding women from both restaurant and solutions provider companies who are reinventing restaurant processes and operations while demonstrating excellence in leadership.

Recognizing women across three categories – Rising Star, Innovator and Lifetime Achievement – Mallett is being honored as an Innovator alongside Sherrill Kaplan from Dunkin’ Brands and Anita Klopfenstein from Panera Bread. The Innovator awards are presented to women who are transforming the foodservice technology space by creating or deploying emerging technologies that reimagine how business is done, while paving the way for future technologies.

“This year’s nominees were among a pool of candidates that all demonstrated incredible passion and accomplishments. It gives great hope for future generations knowing that these women are not only shattering gender stereotypes but also simultaneously accomplishing great feats that are raising the bar for everyone — regardless of gender,” said Hospitality Technology Magazine Editor, Dorothy Creamer.

Mallett founded ezCater, the only nationwide marketplace for business catering, in 2007 as a solution to connect restaurants and caterers with businesspeople looking for reliable caterers to feed their meetings and events. Under her leadership, the company has experienced rapid growth. In the past 18 months alone, ezCater has raised a total of $63 million in venture funding and doubled its headcount to 175 people. It has also grown its network of partner restaurants and caterers to more than 50,000 locations nationwide. ezCater partners range from independent local restaurants to regional and national chains such as Boston Market, HoneyBaked, and Ruby Tuesday. Since inception, ezCater has provided food to more than 18 million businesspeople.

“I’m honored to be a winner in the company of such accomplished innovators,” said Mallett. “ezCater makes our customers’ lives easier and expands our catering partners’ businesses. It’s rewarding when innovation creates a win-win like that.”
