MCLEAN, Va.--()--Booz Allen Hamilton (NYSE:BAH) announced today that cyber industry leader Brad Maiorino joins the firm as an executive vice president in its commercial business effective March 13. Maiorino will be responsible for helping Booz Allen clients deploy cyber security and risk management solutions to combat the dynamic threat environment facing all companies today. Maiorino joins Booz Allen from Target where he served as Chief Information Security Officer, leading the post-breach response and information security and risk strategy.

Maiorino brings more than 20 years of experience with a diverse background in software engineering, infrastructure, and technology risk and compliance. In a career spanning multiple global enterprises, Brad has transformed information security and risk organizations and has cultivated cultures of security. Brad is also a member of the Board of Directors for the Retail Cyber Intelligence Sharing Center (R-CISC) where he works alongside his peers to strengthen the industry’s collective defense against today’s threats.

“Providing the very best cyber security talent and capabilities to our commercial clients has been a cornerstone of our growth strategy for several years. We are thrilled that Brad will bring his extensive experience and leadership to our team,” said Horacio Rozanski, President and Chief Executive Officer of Booz Allen. “Cyber security is a front-of-mind priority for all businesses. With advanced skills developed over decades of work for government agencies, Booz Allen helps commercial clients build the strongest defenses by fusing engineering capabilities with deep knowledge of the ecosystem within which businesses operate.”

Prior to joining Target, Maiorino was the Chief Information Security Officer for General Motors. There he led the transformation of the company’s global information security and IT risk organization including building out a global team and establishing GM’s Vehicle Cyber Security Steering Committee. Before serving General Motors, he was the Chief Information Security Officer at General Electric. There he oversaw GE’s global information security program across all lines of business and led the design and build of the GE Cyber Security Fusion Center, a state-of-the-art security operations center.

“The threat landscape continues to evolve with more frequent and sophisticated attacks, and this isn’t something one organization can combat alone. We need to leverage the rapid pace of technology innovation and industry leading expertise to keep up in today’s environment,” said Maiorino. “With a unique set of skills developed through serving government agencies, Booz Allen is uniquely positioned to solve today’s toughest cyber security challenges. I look forward to building on the existing expertise to support the needs of our commercial clients.”
