Citrix and Rehab Management Help Australians Get Back to Work

Citrix Networking Solutions Empower Workplace Rehabilitation Provider to Better Treat Patients in Remote Areas

SANTA CLARA, Calif.--()--Citrix (NASDAQ:CTXS) today announced national workplace rehabilitation provider Rehab Management has deployed Citrix technology to better deliver critical health management and psychological services across Australia. With 210 employees working across 56 offices and in the field, Rehab Management needed a solution to resolve connectivity issues impacting the quality of services provided by its regional and remote offices. The organization also wanted to boost employee morale and productivity by enabling them to work regardless of location and device.

“Adopting a cloud-based IT strategy is a critical part of our plan to become Australia’s number one occupational rehabilitation provider. With a large number of potential customers living in remote areas who are unable to physically travel into more populated areas for treatment, we needed to enhance our existing infrastructure to rapidly deliver effective treatment helping people get healthy and back to work,” said Boris Kotevski, National IT Manager, Rehab Management.

The Citrix solution was chosen over competing options as Citrix was the only vendor capable of implementing a virtual wide area network (WAN) that could eliminate branch connectivity complexities affecting its remote and regional offices.

Having previously been unable to replicate the same user experience in regional offices, Rehab Management – using Citrix NetScaler SD-WAN and Citrix XenDesktop – can remotely publish applications replicating the Windows environment from its Sydney Head Office to employee devices operating in remote areas throughout the country, improving the quality of services provided to patients and increasing mobility amongst its workforce.

Deploying Citrix NetScaler SD-WAN, Rehab Management replaced traditional network services in the WAN by building multiple virtual networks on inexpensive internet services to deliver simple, secure network services to each branch office and a better experience to internal users. The NetScaler SD-WAN solution also allowed Rehab Management to replace its Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) connections with an asymmetric digital subscriber line (ADSL), providing the company with 10 times the amount of bandwidth at a fraction of the cost.

“MPLS is the old way of providing corporate interoffice connectivity – it is slow to provision, slow to react to the pace of business and prohibitively expensive,” said Kotevski. “NetScaler SD-WAN allows our business to immediately dial-up and down network speeds, which provides bandwidth to support new technologies and allows us to reallocate IT operations budget towards more critical initiatives.”

“The additional enhancements in the latest release of the NetScaler SD-WAN platform are compelling, and the zero-touch service with the new lower-cost appliance allows us to expand quickly as we add additional locations within our network. Tackling the connectivity issue at its core also means no office is at a disadvantage, with cost-effective tools that complement our existing IT infrastructure empowering employees to do their job remotely.”

“Rehab Management has traditionally been a strong workplace rehabilitation player, and if we’re going to fulfill our business objective of becoming the market leader, we’ll continue to do more with Citrix when it comes to technology and innovation. Without Citrix we don’t have an IT system. Without an IT system, we don’t have a business,” added Kotevski.

Phil Caleno, acting Senior Director of Networking Sales in Australia/NZ at Citrix said, “Building upon our strong relationship, Rehab Management is the first customer in Australia to deploy Citrix NetScaler SD-WAN on this level and scale. Their results have been immediate with employees successfully operating more productively in a mobile and flexible working environment.”

“Injured regional and remote workers across Australia want to rejoin the workforce. Rehab Management has a clear mission and provides admirable services to support them,” said Caleno. “Leveraging our expertise in application delivery, Citrix will continue to work with Rehab Management so that their team can spend less time in administrative systems and more time helping their customers rehabilitate.”
