Average Ticket Prices to Caribbean, Mexico Down This Winter

ARLINGTON, Va.--()--Airlines Reporting Corp. (ARC), the premier driver of air travel intelligence and commerce in the travel industry, reported today that travelers looking to fly south during the winter months can expect to pay slightly less than last year. Nearly 240,000 air tickets to the top 10 destinations in Mexico and the Caribbean have been purchased.* The top hot spot for winter travel is Cancun with nearly 63,000 air tickets sold.

The average ticket price to travel to Cancun is $485.51, down from $499.95 in 2016. The lowest average priced ticket is $435.58 to Guadalajara, also down from $507.45 in 2016. Ticket average prices for travel to Mexico City ($529.52), Puerto Rico ($438.58), Los Cabos ($539.79), Montego Bay ($556.46), Puerto Vallarta ($510.73), Nassau ($491.75) and Santo Domingo ($529.27) are also lower than last year. Only tickets to Punta Cana were up this year, increasing approximately $10 to $600.95.

  9. Nassau, Bahamas
  10. Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic
