DALLAS--()--Apex Clearing Corporation, an independent, full-service clearing firm that is the custodian of choice for tech-savvy financial services companies, has hired Ron Fiske as Head of Retail. Mr. Fiske brings to Apex more than 30 years of financial experience, with an expertise in custody, and will play a pivotal role in deepening the company’s digital investment solutions.

We’re thrilled to have Ron lead our retail business, which is helping usher the industry into the new age of digital advice,” said William Capuzzi, CEO of Apex Clearing. “Ron is a perfect fit for Apex because he shares the same vision for fintech as we do: that as digital services become more integrated, the firms with the most sophisticated technology will be the ones that are able to not only operate the most profitably, but also deliver the most user-friendly, seamless platforms to their clients.”

Prior to joining Apex, Mr. Fiske was Managing Director at Envestnet, a leading provider of integrated portfolio, practice management, and reporting solutions. He has also held managerial positions at Fidelity Investments and Pershing LLC.

From a technology standpoint, Apex is way ahead of the curve as the operations of the advisor community inevitably become more digitally-focused,” Mr. Fiske said. “Apex’s work with the top robo-advisors illustrates how the company is leading the pack in terms of providing efficient solutions that allow for more simplified platforms. I’m excited to join Apex as it builds on its success in disrupting the industry through advanced technologies.”

As part of Apex Clearing’s continued effort to enhance its digital offering for the investment community, the company also announced that it is partnering with Smartleaf to integrate Smartleaf’s sophisticated, scalable rebalancing technology into its core custody and clearing services.

Apex powers the leading players in robo-advising, including Betterment, Stash and Wealthfront. According to a 2016 report by BI Intelligence, robo-advisors will manage $8 trillion in assets by 2020. Apex is enabling this growth and innovation through the flexibility of its comprehensive product offering. Features like paperless set-up, fast account generation and streamlined account management are designed to match the speed of the rapidly evolving fintech space.
