Studio Movie Grill Launches Special Needs Screenings for Lincoln Square Concept

The In-Theater Dining Movie Giant Aims to Lighten the Load for Families While Offering Exciting Community Events in Arlington

DALLAS--()--Studio Movie Grill (“SMG”), the leading full-service in-theater dining concept, is launching their special needs screening program customized for families raising children with special needs at their newest flagship. According to the U.S. Department of Education, one out of every 10 children under the age of 14 has some type of special need in the United States. It’s these nearly three million children and their families SMG Lincoln Square is aiming to provide assistance to as it opens the doors of its 24th nationwide location in Arlington’s Lincoln Square on Jan. 19, 2017.

Studio Movie Grill fully understands the impact of caring for children with special needs and how often times it’s overlooked. To lessen the possible feeling of isolation and the ability to enjoy family-friendly entertainment without causing financial strain, special needs screenings are free for children with special needs and their siblings to bring families together. These screenings are a pillar of SMG’s outreach programs and the charitable work SMG has come to be known for. SMG Lincoln Square’s first special needs screening will be Paramount Pictures’™ “Monster Trucks” on Jan. 21, 2017, at 11 a.m., followed by Universal Pictures’ ™”A Dog’s Purpose” on Feb. 4 and Warner Bros. Animation’s ™ “The Lego ® Batman Movie” on Feb. 18. Special needs screenings are but a continuation of the work SMG has been involved in for years. Its Chefs for Children initiative donates 5% of the proceeds of popular menu items to local non-profits serving special needs children.

“Our success is based on making the world a better place and leaving a positive wake in our communities,” remarked Brian Schultz, Founder and CEO of Studio Movie Grill. “We’re extremely proud of the work our teams are doing both inside and outside the theater to bring our mission to open hearts and minds, one story at a time ... to life.”

Being named to Inc. Magazine’s 35th Annual List of Fastest Growing Private Companies hasn’t slowed down the in-theater dining giant’s commitment to community involvement and an unwavering dedication to their guests having memorable experiences.

SMG Lincoln Square has embarked on an 18 community and grass-roots event series that range from a 37,000 original LEGO ® piece mural in anticipation of Warner Bros. Animation’s™ “Lego Batman” movie to a life-size working monster truck on display for guests to experience in support of Paramount Pictures’ “Monster Trucks” movie. Helping SMG expertly tackle these and other community initiatives for Arlington residents is Lightning Rod Events, an experiential marketing and promotions company based in Dallas.

“At Lightning Rod Events, we’re proud to deliver one-of-a-kind experiential events for our clients,” remarked Roderick Stoker, Founder of Lightning Rod Events. “With more than two decades of creating unique experiences for my clients, it’s fitting we’re helping bring Studio Movie Grill’s vision to life as they celebrate a milestone of their own.”

After its Lincoln Square opening, SMG guests will be treated to two special deals including an introductory movie ticket pricing of $9, $7 and $6, as well as 50% off food and beverage choices Jan. 19-26 and 25% off Jan. 27-Feb. 2. SMG will also continue their philanthropic programs in the North Texas area with their Cans Film Festival Food Drive benefiting the Tarrant Area Food Bank. Jan. 23-26, guests can enjoy a free movie ticket when they donate four cans of non-perishable food items to the drive.
