TD Ameritrade Ad Campaign Welcomes Investors to the Green Room for Straight Talk About Money With No Judgment or Jargon

TD Ameritrade Investment Management Services introduced to investors seeking investment advice

OMAHA, Neb.--()--Money is a sensitive topic for many people, but avoiding awkward conversations or keeping finances completely private isn’t the answer. This weekend, TD Ameritrade Holding Corporation (Nasdaq:AMTD) will kick off a new national advertising campaign centered around the Green Room – a sanctuary of sorts where people drop by for real, honest conversations about money in a comfortable, inviting and safe space.

The campaign, developed by Havas New York, supports TD Ameritrade Investment Management Services, the firm’s enhanced and expanded line-up of easy-to-use advice and guidance solutions. Hosted by the approachable “Green Room Guy” fictional character, the creative promotes listening without judgment and having discussions about finances and investing goals in everyday language. A true conversationalist, the Green Room Guy is welcoming, intelligent and helpful.

“The Green Room is a consistent visual device that personifies TD Ameritrade’s long-standing passion to level the playing field for investors of all financial walks of life,” said Denise Karkos, chief marketing officer for TD Ameritrade. “Just like in our branch locations across the country, all are welcome and we’re here to cheer you on in pursuing your financial goals. We’re intent on building lasting relationships with our clients, providing the solutions that best meet their needs, and serving them throughout their investing journey.”

With the first spot launching during Saturday’s NFL divisional playoffs, a series of three 30-second spots will air on national television, complemented by targeted print, digital and social media. The campaign features three different fictional investors sharing their stories:

  • “Schedule”: Everyone’s busy, particularly the on-the-go woman in the spot balancing a career, a family, and her own interests, leaving her little time to spend managing her portfolio. The Green Room Guy tells her about Essential Portfolios, a “robo-advisor” offering – an automated, digital-first investing solution where TD Ameritrade Investment Management, LLC recommends, provides oversight and rebalances a managed portfolio for you.
  • “Fortune”: The spot centers around the idea that no matter the investment goal, it all starts with a conversation. A couple who has been able to set aside $103,000 feels uncomfortable speaking to someone about their investment goals, because other firms thought that was pocket change in the past. TD Ameritrade assures them that their savings is a serious thing, no matter what the amount.
  • “No Law”: A woman comes to the Green Room to talk about retirement goals and is surprised to hear that the Green Room Guy wants to talk not only about that – but also not waiting for retirement to live your dreams. The conversation is meant to help her find the investment solutions that are right for her now and later.

“There can be an intimidation factor for investing, and the fear of making the wrong decisions can paralyze people from becoming investors in the first place,” said Tom Bradley, president of TD Ameritrade, Inc. “That’s why we’re continually launching more ways for investors to obtain professional guidance, advice, and education that’s tailored to their unique needs and accessible on their terms. We’re committed to creating the best overall experience for our clients and helping them make objective decisions in their best interests at a reasonable cost.”
