KODAK VERITÉ Eco Series Showcases the Easiest Way to Save on Your Inkjet Printing Costs

Wireless Inkjet Printers Will Help People Save Even More On Ink

LOS ANGELES--()--Funai Electric Co., Ltd., the worldwide licensee for KODAK Consumer and SOHO Inkjet Printers, is showcasing at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) its newest addition to the Kodak Verité product line-up of inkjet printers. The KODAK VERITÉ Eco Series Inkjet Printers are already on shelves in the U.S. and the U.K. Funai developed the line of all-in-one inkjet printers to address lingering consumer dissatisfaction with the high cost of ink and cartridges that run out of ink too quickly.

“Funai has a long history of manufacturing inkjet and laser printers for recognized brands around the world. The KODAK VERITÉ Eco Series Printers are the first to provide a new innovative cost savings feature called the Eco button. The new printers provide an easy way for people to use up to 30 percent less ink1 and save up to 70 percent or more on their printing costs2. Consumers get the satisfaction of knowing they can use less ink with the new Eco Button and save on ink by buying XL and 3XL cartridges. The high capacity XL and 3XL cartridges provide the convenience of having extra large (XL) cartridges – that double the print yield, and 3XL cartridges that provide six times the yield of a standard cartridge. A 3XL cartridge (MSRP $44.98 for black, $59.98 for color) is equivalent to over $280 of ink when using other leading manufacturer’s ink cartridges.3

The KODAK VERITÉ Eco Series Wireless Printers offers exceptional ease of use and wireless connectivity for printing, scanning and copying. Scanning and printing from a smartphone or tablet takes a single touch from the KODAK VERITÉ Printer App available on Apple and Android devices. The printer is exceptionally easy to set-up and connect so you can print and scan from Android or Apple smartphones or tablets within minutes.

The KODAK VERITÉ Mega Series printer bundle comes with two 3XL cartridges, the equivalent of 12 standard cartridges of ink (a $192 value). These bundles are sold for $99 - $149 (depending on the model).

The printer is also exceptionally easy to connect and wireless print or scan from Android or Apple smartphones or tablets.

It features wireless direct and local Wi-Fi connectivity to enable wireless printing from mobile devices through the KODAK VERITÉ Printer App, Apple AirPrint ™ and Google Cloud Print ™.

Funai is developing this line of inkjet printers to address the consumer dissatisfaction associated with the high cost of ink cartridges that run out of ink too fast. “We know that people are looking for easy ways to print and scan from mobile devices. We also know that consumers are looking for ways to save on ink costs. The KODAK VERITÉ Eco Wireless Printers will solve both of these needs,” Tsuneki Yoshida, OS Division, GM Funai Electric said.

“Kodak has always stood for high quality and ease of use. We are pleased to partner with Funai on this evolving product line to give consumers a solution to the ongoing frustration of paying too much for ink,” said Brian Cruz, Vice President and General Manager of Consumer Products, Kodak.

The KODAK VERITÉ Eco Series Printers are available at major retailers around the U.S. and on Amazon.com. Replacement ink cartridges are also available at retail and online starting at only $11.99 for a standard fill (200-page yield) black ink cartridge and $19.99 for a standard fill (180-page yield) color ink cartridge.1 For those who want to save up to 50% or more on ink costs there will be XL (high yield) cartridges and 3XL (extra high yield) cartridges with 2 times and up to 6 times the page yield respectively.1

1. The up to 30 percent less ink used claim is based on actual ink used when printing color graphics and text documents obtained by continuous printing in accordance with ISO/IEC 24711. Actual results may vary depending on number of pages actually printed per month and content of pages printed. Eco Mode 1 uses 20 percent less ink by reducing the density of ink printed on a page resulting in a slightly less vibrant image. Eco Mode 2 uses 30 percent less ink on a page by reducing the density of ink printed (same as Eco Mode 1) and also reducing the size of the printed image by 3.25 percent on each side of the page. For more information, see www.kodakverite.com/ecomode.

2. Up to 70 percent or more savings claim is based on the cost per page (“CPP”) of replacement KODAK VERITÉ 5 XL or VERITÉ 5 3XL Ink cartridges as compared to the CPP of similarly priced branded cartridges for leading manufacturer’s color inkjet printers less than $100 USD, market share reported by NPD 2015, and when using the Eco Mode 2. CPP is based on manufacturer’s recommended street price and page yield as reported by Gap Intelligence Reports. Actual savings may vary depending on number of pages actually printed per month and content of pages printed. Ink page yield values for color graphics and text document obtained by continuous printing in accordance with ISO/IEC 24711. Actual results may vary.

3. Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) of included KODAK VERITÉ 3XL Black and 3XL Color cartridges is $95.98 -- a $280 value when compared to the CPP of other leading manufacturers’ ink cartridges for leading color inkjet printers less than $100 USD, market share reported by NPD 2015. Manufacturer’s recommended street price and page yield as reported by NPD Reports.
