WASHINGTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--FiscalNote, the Washington DC-based company that is dramatically improving the way organizations engage with government, today announced Chris Lu to the newly created post of senior strategy advisor. Lu will work with co-founder and CEO Tim Hwang and the executive team on business development beginning in February, once his current duties as Deputy Secretary of the U.S. Department of Labor conclude.

During his public service career, Lu has served in all three branches of the Federal Government and continuously worked to deepen the understanding of the political process. In the Executive branch, he was White House Cabinet Secretary/Assistant to the President and Co-Chair of the White House Initiative on Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders. During his time in the Legislative branch, he was Legislative Director and Acting Chief of Staff for then-Senator Barack Obama and Deputy Chief Counsel of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee under Rep. Henry Waxman. And in the Judicial branch, he was a law clerk for Judge Robert E. Cowen on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. He also led the Obama-Biden Transition Project beginning the day after the 2008 Presidential election.
Lu is the co-editor of Triumphs and Tragedies of the Modern Congress (Praeger, 2014). Beginning in February, he will also be a senior fellow at the University of Virginia Miller Center.
Lu graduated magna cum laude from Princeton and cum laude from Harvard Law School. He is the recipient of numerous awards including an honorary doctorate from MacMurray College. In his spare time, Lu is an avid runner and has completed more than 30 marathons.
