World Renowned Expert Joins LISNR as Technical Adviser

Digital Signal Processing Expert Joins Ultrasonic Protocol Creator LISNR

CINCINNATI--()--LISNR, the world’s most advanced ultrasonic protocol and an emerging leader in the Internet of Sound, announces Andrew C. Singer, Ph.D, as its technical adviser.

Dr. Singer most recently made news for successfully transmitting enough data over ultrasound through animal tissue to support Netflix HD video streaming, according to Popular Science. The data throughput was astonishing and ranged up to 30MB/second, demonstrating the potential for through-the-body communications.

“Andrew Singer has been a supporter and advocate of LISNR for years now. It’s our absolute pleasure to now have his support in an official capacity,” says Rodney Williams, CEO and Cofounder at LISNR. “Our engineers are rewriting the rules alongside one of the world’s most accomplished digital signal processing academics.”

With global commercial activations across millions of devices, partners & investors like Intel, and as the only ultrasonic solution approved and deployed by government agencies, LISNR has successfully proven itself as a new global standard for ultrasonic connectivity. The characteristics of leveraging audio for data transmission in the digital age is in its infancy and LISNR is the pioneer.

“LISNR has positioned itself as a leader with great technology, clients, awards and partners,” says Singer, “I’m excited to assist in their pursuit to change the ways in which devices connect by pioneering the use of ultrasonic audio to connect more devices.”

Andrew Singer received S.B., S.M., and Ph.D. degrees, all in electrical engineering and computer science, from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He holds the Fox Family Endowed Professorship in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He is also a Fellow of the IEEE and an accomplished researcher in the area of signal processing and communication systems with over 200 publications in books, refereed journals and conferences. Singer serves as an expert witness to the signal processing and communications industries.
