Pepperdine Graziadio Receives Military Friendly Gold Award Recognizing Outstanding Support for Veterans

LOS ANGELES--()--Pepperdine Graziadio School of Business and Management has received a Military Friendly® Gold Award for being a graduate school with exceptional programs and support for our nation’s U.S. military veterans and their families. This award is in addition to being named a Military Friendly® School by Victory Media, a veteran and service-disabled-owned organization.

This new designation showcases the most powerful and effective programs of more than 200 companies and 1,200 post-secondary schools that were designated as “Military Friendly®” in November.

“It is an honor to support those who have served our country and help them transition from their military service to graduate level business education at Pepperdine Graziadio,” said John Paglia, PhD, associate dean, Fully Employed Programs, at the Graziadio School of Business and Management. “The Graziadio School is an ideal choice for veterans due to our flexible class schedule, emphasis on work-life balance and our focus on creating values-centered leaders.”

The Graziadio School offers an undergraduate Business Management degree and several Master’s Degree Programs with classes held on evenings and weekends, both in-person and online. The Graziadio School also sponsors the Veteran’s Business Society to support military veterans through outreach, camaraderie, mentoring, and networking.

Pepperdine University proudly supports those who have served in the military. Unlike other institutions, Pepperdine University does not limit the number of Yellow Ribbon students accepted. The Yellow Ribbon Program is a provision of the Post-9/11 GI Bill (Chapter 33). Any student that is 100% eligible for the Post-9/11 GI Bill and not on active duty is eligible to receive a Yellow Ribbon Scholarship. Pepperdine Graziadio awards half of the difference between the annual cap set by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and the cost of tuition and fees; the amount awarded by Pepperdine is matched by the VA. Therefore, a student’s tuition and certifiable fees are fully covered.

Pepperdine Graziadio also participates in the Ahmanson Veteran Scholarship Initiative (AVSI), which supports young men and women returning from Iraq and Afghanistan, whose abilities and experience make them ideal college student candidates. The AVSI provides funding to twenty-four private colleges and institutions in California with a goal toward enrolling, supporting and graduating more student veterans.
