NTT DATA Selected by California State Teachers’ Retirement System to Expand SAP System

PLANO, Texas--()--NTT DATA, Inc., a leading business and IT services provider, today announced it was selected for a five-year agreement with the California State Teachers’ Retirement System to support the SAP system for the world’s largest educator-only pension fund.

“CalSTRS was seeking a vendor that would be able to support expansion of their SAP system, while also providing a vision for their future within the SAP environment and integration across their entire IT portfolio,” said Tim Conway, president, public sector for NTT DATA, Inc. “Through this collaboration, we will leverage our depth of industry experience to improve operational efficiencies at CalSTRS resulting in future cost savings and increased productivity.”

Through onsite maintenance and operation of CalSTRS’ SAP system, called Business Direct, NTT DATA will support and expand the fund’s business applications and solutions to improve operations. In addition, NTT DATA will leverage fellow NTT Group company NTT Communications’ RagingWire data centers to conduct assessments for security and disaster recovery.

“In order for CalSTRS to sustain our ongoing success and focus on our mission — to secure the retirement future for California’s nearly 900,000 educators — it is imperative to have strong, collaborative working relationships and open communication between our business areas, IT operations, and the vendor,” said CalSTRS Chief Technology Officer, Ashish Jain. “After completing the competitive bidding process, we are looking forward to working with NTT DATA, Inc., as we feel confident they will contribute effectively to this endeavor.”
