SocialChorus Further Expands in the Fortune 500 to Deliver Personalized Employee Communications

Additional funding, product innovation and executive hires confirm leadership position in employee communications landscape

SAN FRANCISCO--()--SocialChorus, the leading employee communications platform for complex, distributed workforces, today announced that it has raised $10 million in new funding from Kohlberg Ventures and released significant enhancements to its platform, enabling HR and Communications leaders to drive employee alignment, engagement and advocacy.

“In the last year, 27 of the Fortune 500 have deployed our platform to keep their employees, in head office and in the field, on the same page,” says Gregory Shove, founder and chief executive officer. “We have built the only employee-first communications experience that delivers the news and information each employee needs to thrive, especially for those who don’t spend all day in front of a computer or have access to traditional intranets or email.”

SocialChorus’ latest release puts engagement first in employee communications with a company-branded, easy-to-use app and a consumer-like experience. This approach has attracted many of the world’s largest enterprises, including 13 of the Fortune 100 in every industry from pharmaceutical and manufacturing to retail and telecommunications.

“The same old communications weren’t breaking through and most of our content was lost in the clutter of emails and newsletters that no one read. We needed to get above the noise of untargeted emails and trivial chat,” said Ed Meyercord, president and chief executive officer of Extreme Networks. “With E360, powered by SocialChorus, we’re revolutionizing our marketing and communications and reaching our global employees and partners with relevant and personalized content on devices they’re already using. We’re thrilled to be partnered with the industry leader, and proud to share an impressive customer base of the world’s largest companies.”

The latest release of the SocialChorus platform:

  • Puts employees first, allowing them to personalize their experience for increased relevancy.
  • Supports all types of news and information across the employee journey, including training videos, surveys, business and HR updates, employee-submitted content and third-party content.
  • Simplifies the management of large-scale employee communications programs with a powerful publishing and personalization engine.
  • Empowers HR and Communications leaders with user and content insights to measure engagement, alignment and advocacy, proving value in their investment.
  • Enables frictionless sharing across all social channels so that employees can become active brand advocates.
  • Powers communications for global organizations with native language app localization in 20 languages.

Building on its momentum, SocialChorus has secured an additional $10 million in capital from lead investor, Kohlberg Ventures, to fuel product development. This additional funding takes total capital invested to more than $32 million, which has fostered 300% year-over-year growth for the last three years.

Since the beginning of the year, the company has also strengthened its management team, adding enterprise software and communications industry-veterans Brian McDowell as vice president of sales, Tim van Nispen as vice president of customer success and Sonia Fiorenza as vice president of communications and engagement strategies.

“Employee adoption and retention inside of SocialChorus’ customers are very strong, giving us great confidence in the outlook for the company. Combined with the Fortune 500 customer penetration and strong management team, we think timing is right to invest further to solidify our leadership position in this new enterprise software category,” said James Kohlberg, chairman of the board.
