RainDance Technologies Streamlines Cancer Profiling and Mutation Monitoring with Launch of RainDrop Plus™ Digital PCR System at AMP 2016

Leading molecular pathologists will share performance data demonstrating new faster droplet detection, higher throughput and automated analysis capabilities

BILLERICA, Mass. & CHARLOTTE, N.C.--()--RainDance Technologies, Inc., a genomics tools company simplifying the analysis of complex genetic diseases, today announced the launch of its RainDrop Plus™ Digital PCR System featuring faster droplet detection, higher throughput, and new automated analysis capabilities. Maria E. Arcila, MD, at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center will share her experience with the RainDance products and present recent performance data later today during the RainDance workshop at the Association for Molecular Pathology (AMP) 2016 Annual Meeting.

The RainDrop System is the only unified platform for NGS amplicon enrichment and digital PCR. The proprietary picodroplet technology enables profiling and monitoring cell-free and cell-based biomarkers for variant detection, clonal evolution tracking, and minimal residual disease monitoring applications. By generating millions of highly uniform five picoliter droplet reactions per sample, the RainDrop System delivers superior sensitivity with six log dynamic range. The RainDrop Plus features even faster time to results and new analysis software that streamlines turnaround time, increases throughput, and automates data analysis.

“RainDance has worked closely with our customers in recent years to push the lower limits of detection and achieve levels of sensitivity and precision never before possible,” said Darren Link, PhD, Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer at RainDance Technologies. “The new RainDrop Plus enables researchers to harness this new level of sensitivity and perform experiments faster and easier than ever before.”

New Product Showcases and Data Presentations

RainDance will showcase its complete line of products at the Association for Molecular Pathology (AMP) 2016 Annual Meeting in Booth 1331 in Charlotte, NC from November 9-12. Dr. Arcila will describe how she is using the RainDance products, including the new RainDrop Plus System, to profile and monitor critical mutations in blood and solid cancers during the company’s lunch workshop on Wednesday, November 9 from 12:00-12:50 p.m. in Room 208A, Charlotte Convention Center.
