Woven Digital Names Content Pioneer Benjamin Blank as CEO

Blank Promoted from Previous Role as Chief Creative Officer; Colin Digiaro Named Executive Chairman

LOS ANGELES--()--Woven Digital, one of the largest millennial male-focused digital media and content companies, announced today it has named creator and content pioneer Benjamin Blank as CEO. Blank previously served as Woven’s Chief Creative Officer overseeing the company’s creative strategy across its portfolio of media properties and leading a significant expansion of the company’s award-winning, in-house production arm, Woven Studios. As CEO, Blank will be responsible for guiding overall company strategy and growth as the company continues to extend its lead as the go to resource for the millennial male through its UPROXX, HitFix and BroBible brands.

Colin Digiaro who had previously served as Woven CEO has been promoted to Executive Chairman where he will oversee investor relations and M&A efforts and will be focused on strategic partnerships alongside Co-Founder Scott Grimes. Digiaro recently coordinated Woven’s $18.5 million Series B funding round in June, led by WPP Ventures. As CEO, Digiaro led significant growth for the company, doubling aggregate traffic across the brand’s media properties over the past year and leading the acquisitions of top entertainment brand HitFix.

Blank has played a foundational role in the branded content and digital media space, beginning at Anonymous Content where he was a producer on BMW’s groundbreaking film series The Hire. Directed by a mix of high profile names including Ang Lee, Alejandro González Iñárritu and Guy Ritchie, the series was a massive sales success for BMW while also putting short-form, branded content on the map as a compelling medium for serious artistic endeavor. Prior to Woven, Blank co-founded production company Locksmith Content where he directed award winning TV commercials, web films, branded content, and films for clients including American Express, Nike and NFL.

“Under Benjamin’s leadership, Woven Studios has delivered a remarkable slate of hits, significantly expanding our profile as one of the world’s top creators of original video content,” said Woven Executive Chairman Colin Digiaro. “With today’s promotion, we are pleased to welcome him to a larger role as we continue to set the pace for the millennial male market.”

Reaching more than 60 million users per month and one of every two millennial males, Woven has become an original video powerhouse, developing cutting edge programming at its state of the art production facilities in Culver City, California. The company recently garnered a Gold Clio Award for the debut episode of UNCHARTED, an original video series that has garnered over 70 million views. Its Luminaries series, which The Huffington Post called “exceptional” and “awe inspiring,” was recently nominated for a prestigious Webby Award.

“By creating content that is entirely original and fearless, we are proud to have earned the attention and loyalty of the millennial male audience,” said Woven CEO Benjamin Blank. “Our mission moving forward is to continue to build on this success as we expand the reach and influence of our industry-leading media properties. I look forward to leading our phenomenal team in the next stage of our development.”
